Speed Horns Frequently Asked Questions
1:
How much will it cost me?

2.
What if I have some horn ideas, but I need them arranged?

3. When I download my parts, how do
I line them up in my song?
A: When you send us the song to record the horn parts
on, make sure it’s bounced or converted directly from your recording
software exactly from the zero mark (00:00:000). If you’re using
Pro Tools, the parts will be time stamped to drop in exactly where
they were recorded as Pro Tools is the system we use to record the
parts on. You will also have the MP3 we send back to you after collaborating
to reference where the parts are in relation to the song.
4. How do I pay you?
A: Once the fee is agreed upon, you pay half up front
and the other half when the arrangements are done to your satisfaction.
Paypal is the preferred method as it is free, secure, easy, and fast.
You can also send a money order or cashier’s check.
5. What do you use in your studio?
A: Pro Tools 7.0 used with an Avalon 2022 dual channel
mic pre and a Universal Audio 6176 tube channel strip mic pre. There
is also a Joe Meek VCQ3 channel mic pre and a Presonus Digimax 8 channel
digital mic pre all synced up to Lucid 24/96 AD/DA Converters. Various
plug-ins from Waves, Bombfactory, and Antares.
The mic closet consists of a BLUE Kiwi multi-pattern condenser mic
and a BLUE Baby Bottle condenser mic. There are 2 Shure KSM-32 condenser
mics, a RODE NTK tube mic, a matched pair of RODE NT5 pencil condenser
mics for stereo recording, a Shure 57 dynamic mic, a Shure Beta 52
dynamic mic, and an Oktava ML52 ribbon mic. We use different combinations
depending on the type of song, style of player, and set up of the
musicians.
